garden gatherings

of, from, and within the garden

Over 70 plants live in the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft Garden, each of them cultivated to become craft. Spanning the fabric of human existence, craft is an active dialogue with living material. String, baskets, textiles, dye, pigment, paper — all made with plants.

A place to cultivate curiosity and growth, garden gatherings facilitate encounters with plants and craft through making, reading, and group discussions to see ourselves as part of a long, sprawling story of craft. Topics such as uses, history, and contemporary craft approaches vary month by month.

Bring a craft to work on. Bring a lunch. Stay awhile.

garden gatherings are community-based learning and happen the last Saturday of the month (except December) at 10:30 a.m. in the HCCC Craft Garden, 4848 Main St, Houston, TX 77002. Facilitated by gardener and former resident Molly Koehn (mall-ee kayn).
